Floating Time.

Every Tuesday and Thursday at Civic Center Park (I reviewed this place on Yelp), there's a food fest with a bunch of food trucks. So we checked it out for the first time today since it's only 5 minutes from Hot Box Studio (the name of our apartment).

Smothered fries.

And some crockpot rice fusion thing.

Getting ready for the Boylesque show (Mr. Under 21 had to go two hours early just so he could get in. What a loser).

This is Liz V.
She's a model and I hate standing next to her, considering that a 5'2 girl still looks ginormous compared to one who is 5'5.

Do Asians have this weird thing about their skin that doesn't work well with flash??

The only hot guy, seriously (why are they always black?).

Paramount Cafe.

The show itself wasn't that great and I didn't have too much fun, but it was my first strip experience (yay?). Odd that it was work-related though. I guess working for a mag means embracing other people's morals.

Locked Out.

We waited hours and hours to get back into the apartment this morning. I finally took a clean shower and now I'm at Rooster and Moon so I can work on my feature article. Even if we don't go into work, we work at home. It's a perk, I suppose.

So here's what happened yesterday.
We missed church due to exhaustion from the day before. In the afternoon, we went to Aurora.

I don't remember what I was saying..

We walked for forever.

Pit bathroom stop.

HAHA unproportional body...

This marked the beginning of our homeless troubles. We stayed at the Brown Palace lobby until we knew what and where we wanted to go. Eunice ended up going to the 303 party without us, since she was all dressed anyway.
Here's the lowdown on that: it was the music issue release party for June. I wasn't working or anything, but our names were on the list to get in for free. It would have been a night of cocktails, music, and socializing. But, everyone seemed to have the same conclusion about the night: boring, and our EIC was a sloppy drunk. No, I suppose we didn't miss out on anything much. Anyway, there's a "boylesque" show on Tuesday night in the literal clocktower downtown, as a "kick off" for PrideFest. Probably a night of naked men on stage again. Hm..

Mr. Nose Wart explains our unfortunate situation.

So we stayed the night at Eunice's apartment talking and watching movies.

Illumination.

Insane past couple of days.
Just the amount of workload with the article is driving me nuts. Fortunately (or unfortunately?), I'm going into work late tomorrow, if at all.
1. Stephy lost his keys and we're locked out til Monday morning. We missed the release party that was tonight. I know, right?
2. Hence, we are at Eunice's house, unshowered and unwashed.

Today we spent the day in A-town at the H-mart (I bought grapes for $7 today, unknowingly. Super angry). I'll tell you about it later though because I have pictures that I can't upload without my laptop. Otherwise, I have pictures from last night...which was the Miami Horror show at Bluebird Theater. Out of all the shows I've been to, I had the most fun with Miami Horror (with OK Go being the best show). The crowd was awesome, and seeing Matthew made my day hahaha. Meeting his friends for a brief moment was fun as well.

But before our night started, we went to City, O City for this Florentine pizza. Met our model friend, Liz.

I'm trash, apparently. A happy piece of trash, at least.

The tower of a guy behind me.

Immensely dehydrated.

Happy...?

Dare I say, a very "Noah" picture? I dunno, that's the person I thought of when I saw this.

Matthew probably telling me something I didn't want to hear. In a happy place, nonetheless.

Um, freaking amazing live. But their set seemed so short. And I was unbelievably upset that they didn't play Imagination!!!

I don't know who they are, but they look like my best friends in this picture.

Guess who was at the show?
JAMBA BOY. Right behind Matthew with the white plugs. We talked to him. Super humiliating. He looked like he didn't want to be there the whole time.

"Tee-hee"ing.

Aftermath mistakes.

Walked forever to get here.

The bus that looked like a charter bus to end our night.

Moon Theory.

It's already a busy week.
I usually only go into work two days a week but this week, it's doubled. Yesterday I attended my first photoshoot an hour away from Denver at a place called Golden Gate State Park. It was an eight hour photoshoot and I was taking down all the credits for the clothing and accessories on the model. It was exciting meeting a new staff and working with strange people, but mostly, it was just tiring. Fashion is just not my thing.
Today I go into work and somehow ended up being the writer for one of the featured articles for July. It's work that is as much fun as it is doing research and making a ton of phone calls to ask for details and dealing with difficult (or sometimes wonderfully helpful) people. And thus, for taking on this job (which is paid for the amount of words I get!), I have to come in again tomorrow. I guess I shouldn't complain since I hardly know of any internships that have such flexible (and free) schedules in the first place. I think the EIC is starting to like (aka trust) me more.

This was Monday, a spontaneous dinner prepared by Eunice at her abode on the 25th floor.

Partially Mark's belated 21st celebration. Mark is Stephen's roommate.

Today after 303 we randomly went to Goodwill. I bought a maroon blazer by Gap for $5 and these olive shorts from Banana for $2. I was hesitant buying them because I just hate buying things that I might not wear, even if it's cheap. Though I must say that this is the most quality I've bought that is "cheap." I need an outfit for Miami Horror on Saturday, though I don't think I'd wear any of those anyway. I think this is my first clothing purchase since I've been in Denver.
For dinner, we had Senor Burrito, the most accurate Mexican I've had since California. It had good reviews on Yelp. Speaking of Yelp, I think I'm going to sign up and become a reviewer. I've been obsessed lately. I'll update you on that later.

Currently at a cafe called "Michaelangelo's" trying to do some research for 303. This place is freezing inside, and plays no music, but has that "Biscotti's" ambiance (for all you Orangemen). How can they have no music??

Middle Of The Sea.

Yesterday was spent moping around in the heat until Jaymye (finally spelled correctly- third time's a charm) came over and we all met up to take the light rail to Colorado's very own A-town for nengmyun. A little birdie tells me that this restaurant has stolen the recipe from LA. Thus the reason for its popularity here.

I suddenly don't remember their names (or I never knew them). But they're wearing couple tees. I think that justifies this not-knowing of names.

Sarah's beb, Cadence (who hated me the first time I met her).

Afterwards, we went to Sarah's house for a while (where Cadence finally realized she likes me). We decided to go to Tracks again, out of a very long process of indecisiveness and impulsivity (it's a word). Yet now I've vowed that I will never go back to Tracks ever again. I didn't have fun like I did last time and I had a pounding headache.

All day today, I've had a headache. I didn't do anything significant today except watch The Basketball Diaries. Let's see, how do I explain how I felt after watching this movie? A mixture of this smitten feeling for Leo's dashing youth, thankfulness for the friends I call friends, utter disgust of addictions, and paranoia with anything related to drugs...including the Tylenol that I desperately took afterwards. Now that my fever has been gone, my head aches a pounding ache ever since. I can't stop taking pain killers (well, at least one a day).

I must admit, I got a little frustrated today. I can't explain how much I long for a tan every summer. But this summer, I don't seem to care. It might have to do with not caring who will see my pale skin because I hardly know anyone here. Might have to do with being landlocked. I just can't believe I have no access to a beach. That led me to think about all the greatness of soCal.
I gotta say though, I miss Mexican and In-N-Out pretty badly, and mother's cooking, of course. I miss my parents a lot actually.

D-Bar.

It's my third week and I didn't go to work yesterday. I just wasn't feeling well. I suppose that the weather finally getting warmer is making it worse to walk around in the heat. But I did do my part in writing two, frustrating, 140 word snippets even while at home. That is the perk of journalism.

Later towards the evening, Soy and Bomi came to visit and we went to D Bar just for desserts.
I still don't understand the dessert craze.

Life destroying machines.
